Restoration of brickwork is not able to be done on all brickwork due to the types of bricks, however on bricks were it can be undertaken, it can create great results.

While grinding of the brickwork generally will remove the face of the brickwork depending on how far the grinding will be required to go, we can seal the brickwork afterwards to form an extra barrier to help prevent any fretting of the bricks.

Cleaning of the brickwork with cleaning solutions can remove a variety of problems including:

Salt build up
Water staining
Mortar excess

Fireplace restoration for conversion

In 2017 we completed a restoration of a fireplace that was to be included in a kitchen where a cabinet containing an oven, cook top and range hood would be installed.

These clients were renovating a heritage property which was timber framed, but wanted to expose the original fireplace and restore the original brickwork to use it as in a feature in their kitchen.

To complete this restoration and conversion, we first removed the cement lintel above the fireplace, reinstated the brickwork where damaged or replaced and re-pointed it all before grinding it all to give it a uniform look prior to the installation of the glass splashbacks and cabinetry.
