What walls can we alter?

With a Trade Team consisting of Bricklayers to Carpenters and everything in between, the only limitations to what walls can be altered are based on whether they are load bearing or not.

Load bearing walls are active key structural elements in the design of a home / building and will require an Engineer’s recommendation on a safe method to reconfigure the surrounding building elements to ensure the integrity of the structure remains intact after any modifications or removals.

In situations where an Engineer is required, we can organize an inspection and recommendation to find the best method to achieve the best results possible.

For non-load bearing walls the process is simpler and out Team can give their own recommendations during an appointment and assess whether a lintel will be required to be installed to support the structure

As changing walls alters the plans of your home or building, especially with complete removals, we recommend our Clients submit a building permit to their local council, which we can organise on their behalf where required.

Ceilings, floors and adjoining walls

Removing or altering the wall is generally only half of the challenge when it comes to the process, remediating all the surrounding areas to give the impression that the modifications never took place is of equal importance to us as any other part.

Gaps in ceilings and walls will appear where the wall once was placed, although with our multi-skilled Trade Team, we can repair these areas ready for painting no matter the type of construction whether it be brick or timber frame walls.

Flooring can be a difficult situation to resolve depending on what type is being used in the surrounding area, our Team can organize for repairs and alterations to flooring at the request of our Clients, which can be discussed during an inspection.

We use local flooring suppliers and installers in the South West as part of our other services and can meet any requests desired.

Internal and external

Whether it be an internal or external wall, bricks or weatherboard construction, we can replicate almost any finish required to blend in new openings or fill-ins to match the surrounding area to make it appear as if it has always been that way.

We also can alter doorways and windows to house a different style or size of window or door as well, such as changing an aluminium sliding door into timber double doors or one window for a larger or smaller size and the type of window.
