Adding features to a new home

Adding the finishing features with Aerostone to a new home

Millbridge

Aerostone bands installed, reveals rendered, texture coated and painted on completion.

When new homes are built, Bricklayers can extend their brickwork out to allow for a Renderer to finish off this extension with render, creating a traditional render band finish.

This however may not always be an option due to a variety of factors including design limitations and construction methods.

Aerostone bands applied and reveals rendered

Aerostone bands are the perfect solution in situations where a render band is not a viable option due to not requiring a brick extension to achieve the same result as the band.

Bands come in a range of thicknesses required and can be installed onto face brickwork.

On this new home in Millbridge, to add depth and character to the front facade, we installed plain banding around the three windows of the master bedroom.

Using the Aerostone adhesive, the reveals were then rendered to complete the traditional rendered band appearance.

Rebated banding was then installed to the top course of brickwork to add the last effect of tying the bands into the home.

After the installation was completed, the bands were sanded to achieve an even finish and texture coated.

Texture coating allows the Aerostone products to achieve a finish similar to traditional sand render and allows them to be painted with any exterior paint product.

Installing bands like these are not limited to new builds however and can be used on existing homes or buildings with the same effect to enhance any facade.
