Rebuilding brick piers

Repairing a brick pier on a lean

Dunsborough

Brick pier leaning over.

Last week we completed a brick repair job on a holiday unit in Dunsborough.

The unit had a pier that was meant to support the rear portico roof structure, however it was not correctly fixed into the roof and had started leaning over, causing the roof to have a noticeable dip to one side.

Leaning at top was causing the pier to no longer support the roof structure.

Further investigation noted that the pier's footing was not sufficient for it's size, allowing it to sink when the area surrounding it also sunk slightly.

Pier was leaning away from the unit.

Pier was leaning away from the unit.

Our Trades propped the roof structure, removed all the brickwork from both piers, allowing for appropriate tie downs to be installed into the roof after their completion and make both piers square

The piers were then rendered as per request by our Client who was pleased with the results.
